First, we focus on the Spiritual Wellbeing of our patients. We believe that those with a strong spiritual foundation respond more favorably to treatment and are less likely to relapse. We hope that all of our patients learn to have a strong sense of spirituality and draw from that spirituality when faced with daily temptations and challenges. We begin each day with prayer. We teach our patients the purpose of prayer, how we pray, and why we pray. While we will never force any patient to pray, at Beacon Recovery, we know that everyone has a light . . . we hope to locate that light and make it shine. We teach our patients how to obtain “self-love” so that they, in turn, can love others and love themselves enough to be freed of the entrapment of addiction. We assist them in their spiritual journey, no matter where they are along the way.
Second, we focus on the patient’s Physical Wellbeing by approaching it from multiple angles. We start with a plant-based, nutrient-dense supplement regime with the highest quality ingredients on the market. These supplements help our patients restore their bodies and immune systems and are administered through a Zyto Scan process; which allows us to determine which supplements an individual needs, both physically and emotionally. We provide courses and recipes for preparing nutritious meals and snacks. Our staff will work one-on-one with each patient to implement a tailored plan based on the requirements of each individual. We believe that we, as humans, are better able to deal with the stressors around us when we have balanced nutrition and physical well-being. We include guidance and various physical activities for our patients to assist them in gaining control of their physical wellbeing. Our goal is to reduce physical toxins and mental stressors with a healthy diet and a regimented physical routine.
Third, we focus on our patient’s Financial Wellbeing by providing various financial workshops. These workshops teach our patients financial literacy and budgeting techniques, which in turn, will assist them in achieving financial self-sufficiency. If the patient desires to learn how to start, run, and operate their own business; we have some strategic partnerships with companies that will assist them on a path to financial success. Also, Beecon Recovery provides counseling and education for financial aid (government loans, grants, and scholarships) to attend a school or vocational rehab.
We are aware of how financial situations can become stressors or triggers for relapse. At Beecon Recovery, we are committed to teaching financial stability, and it is our goal to assist in the preparation of our patients to re-enter the world successfully upon completion of treatment and long after they have left Beecon Recovery.
Fourth, we focus our patient’s Psychological Wellbeing through the administration of love and treatment by our experienced team. Statistics show that many people who struggle with addiction also suffer from comorbidity. The National Institute on Drug Abuse says that 50% of people who struggle with mental illness will also struggle with substance abuse and vice versa. We know that the high rate of comorbidity between substance abuse disorders and other mental illnesses calls for a comprehensive and holistic approach that identifies and evaluates both by a strong team of licensed, loving, and educated professionals that will work closely with each patient throughout their treatment.
On our fifth and final well-being, we focus on our patient’s Social environment. This is accomplished by combining the previous four modalities with an aggressive, 24-month long-term aftercare program. Each patient chooses up to three mentors (one primary and two secondary) from their own trusted circle of friends and loved ones. Each mentor agrees to this two-year commitment and to be trained by the experienced staff at Beecon Recovery.
This mentoring relationship begins day 1 at Beecon Recovery and is fostered throughout treatment. When the patient is released and returns home and into the same environment that oftentimes got them into this situation in the first place; the mentor can, with the training that they receive from our staff, recognize the triggers of the patient and be there when and if times get tough. We don’t believe in just letting a patient complete treatment and re-enter the world with no follow-up or guidance. It is our goal to assist patients in continued success long after they have completed treatment at Beecon Recovery.
